Edge Grinding / Polishing
FINISHING is a complex stage in the machining process: it is the stage where the glass panels are brought to their final dimensions!
Finishing involves processing the edges of the glass panes with state-of-the-art machinery that gives the glass not only a pleasing appearance, but also safe handling and functionality. Transparent Design can cant both straight and curved surfaces. Rounding corners is absolutely necessary for products like table tops or glazes for safety reasons.

Our machines can finish float glass with thicknesses of 3-25 mm and duplex (laminated) glass, giving the machined edges a matte, glossy or beveled appearance depending on the customer’s requirements.
Technology
TRANSPARENT DESIGN has three double-sided horizontal edge-banding machines – processing the edges of rectangular panels in a single pass. Productivity (1000 ml of cant / 8 hours) and accuracy in meeting dimensions are the advantages of these machines.
- Bavelloni HE500, dim.JUMBO (4500x2400 mm)
- SCHIATTI
- GOLIVE dim. JUMBO (6000x2800 mm)
TRANSPARENT DESIGN also owns a BAVELLONI VE500- V10 machine for angle machining, which can be adjusted to obtain a 0-45° angle.
We have recently purchased and commissioned a line for de-stressing glass edges. Detensioning is the process of finishing the surface of the glass in preparation for, for example, securing. Edge-trimming is done when a highly finished edge is not necessary, as the glass is subsequently fitted into the frames (as is the case with double-glazing).
In the case of irregular shapes (such as climbing glass handrails or furniture glass), the glass panels are finished exclusively using 4 CNCs, with minimal accuracy and deviations.
We are also set to put into operation a double edger line for glass size panels up to 9000x3210mm.
