Glass Balustrades

The glass balustrade is a modern decorative and safety element that can be used for both interior and outdoor applications. The most important thing to take into account when we design a glass balustrade is the appropriate fixing system, according to which we will choose the type of glass and its thickness.

Why choose a glass balustrade?

Glass is a complex material that never goes out of fashion, adding a touch of elegance and style to the modernized space, either retail, business or residential. Frameless and transparent glass balustrades are the perfect choice, creating a feeling of freedom and open space.

There are also varied fixing systems, made of stainless steel, aluminium or wood, with or without handrail, which can meet any design and security requirements. The glass that we use can be transparent or sandblasted, coloured or painted.

What type of glass is suitable or recommended?

The type of glass and its thickness are chosen according to the fixing system and its functionality. For frameless or channel balustrade systems, it is recommended to use 18-21 mm thick laminated and tempered glass, for safety and durability reasons. For balustrade systems with stainless steel posts and clamps, we can use 8-10mm thick PVB glass.
