Fire-resistant glass

Transparent Design became an AGC authorized distributor of PYROBEL(ITE) fire resistant glass in 2020. Our company has the necessary technology for the processing of fireproof glass, being the only processor on the Romanian market, and thus, we can offer the best execution and delivery terms.

Heat-resistant glass, also called fire-resistant glass or fire-resistant glass, is a special type of laminated, multi-layered glass that contains one or more ‘intumescent’ films. This is to prevent the spread of smoke, flames and gas emissions in the event of fire.

Heat resistant glass classification

Depending on their performance, heat-resistant glass is classified into 3 categories: E, EW and EI, the degree of resistance being given by the time (in minutes) for which protection is provided:

In the event of fire, the intumescent film inside the multi-layered glass transforms, when the temperature reaches around 100 degrees C, into a rigid opaque protective ‘shield’ that prevents the flames from penetrating and can reduce or block the transmission of heat.

PYROBELITE glass

PYROBELITE is the thinnest laminated glass with special foil on the inside capable of providing minimum fire protection for up to 60 min. PYROBELITE meets the criteria of the safety classes EW30, EW60 and EI20, depending on the number of glass sheets and the number of inner sheets.

Use

With a thickness between 7.9-12.3 mm, PYROBELITE is most often used in fire resistant glass partitions and doors. The fittings used must also be of a special fire-resistant grade.

In the event of fire, the inner foil becomes a rigid opaque protective ‘shield’ that prevents flames from penetrating and can reduce heat transmission. PYROBELITE provides protection in both directions.
